Save Your Money
Just because you’re a billionaire it doesn’t mean you can’t be frugal. In fact, some people credit being frugal as the reason why they became a billionaire in the first place. Now, doing these 5 frugal things doesn’t mean you’re going to become a billionaire right away… but they certainly help your day-to-day life.
Owning Cheap Cars
So many rich people buy expensive cars as a status symbol. Why? A cheap car will get you from A to B just as easily, and everyone already knows you’re rich. Mark Cuban apparently used to drive a car with a hole in the floorboard, he was that devoted to cheapness.
Having Roommates
If you can’t afford the rent, and let’s face it who can these days, you should consider having roommates. You can still have your own room, and you could always look at them as built-in friends! Just make sure you have a good chore rota.
Grocery Shopping at Midnight
If you go grocery shopping late at night, you’ll find that many of the everyday items are reduced considerably. If you’re awake at midnight anyway, why not? You also shouldn’t shop on an empty stomach – you’ll buy more food that way.
Doing Your Own Chores
People imagine that when they get rich, they’ll have staff – someone to vacuum, someone to dust, and so on beyond your wildest dreams. A surprising amount of rich people do their own chores, though. It saves money and it also provides vital exercise.
Buying Everyday Essentials on Sale and in Bulk
You may think billionaires only buy luxury goods and go to fancy restaurants to eat every day, but in fact many of them buy essentials at cheap prices when they can. Buying goods when they’re on sale, or from bulk buy stores like Costco, can help everyone save money.
